This house greets you with a nice garden that has a symbolic pole which was quite often seen in old villages of Korea.
Rough rocks placed naturally to form a bridge and the sound of a quietly flowing stream relaxes one, transporting one to another world,
and gives high expectation of the house. - It's the sound of nature.
Light, sound and scent are becoming major elements of space design today and they appeal to the five senses of human beings.
Elements of the nature that used to only be approachable outdoors flow into the house naturally and give vitality.
A dining area to the left, a hallway to the right, and a largely-opened living room is seen while feeling the roughness of pebbles from time to time as you step in.
The drawer in foyer, that is as large as the wall, can store efficiently. Also, modular shelves can be utilized in various different ways to display various items.
There is a family room across from the living room, a space used as a library or a home theater. It is an escape from a typical layout of a house, a space for
a new concept in lifestyle can be achieved.
It is an ideal place for inviting friends or intellectuals over, leaning on a couch or sitting on stools in the corner, listening to music sometimes to develop friendships.
The hallway the naturally divides the children's and the master zone expresses a sense of nature and an exotic atmosphere.
The family room, often seen in large-sized apartments, conceptually shows a small independent living room.
The terrace and floor to ceiling window is designed so that it brings in nature inside to private areas as well. There is a place in particular to put albums by the
entry of the master zone. Also, a dressing room that leads into the powder room gives a feeling of a high-end boutique rather than the closed off feeling that was
given previously to make the space pleasantly flow. People need to feel comfortable by design.
By bringing the sound of nature inside, it changes the way a family spends time, and agree on same psychological factors.
Accordingly, it will bring abundance and improve the quality of life.
이 집을 처음 방문해 들어서면
동네 어귀에서나 볼듯한 솟대와 잘 꾸며진 작은 조경을 만나게 된다.
거친 돌들이 징검다리 마냥 자연스레 놓여있고 야외에서나 접할 수 있었던
자연의 요소들이 자연스레 집안에 들어와 집에 생기를 불어 넣는다.
놓칠 수 있는 코너를 디자인하여, 모두를 수납공간으로 활용하였다.
항상 수납은 공동주택에서 극복해야 할 과제이다.

좋은 view를 뒤로하고 건너편 주택단지와 마주보고 거실을 배치하는....등
SK View(방배동)은 그 동안의 관행대로 지극히 평범한 아파트로 진행 되고 있었다.
창을 통해 펼쳐지는 한강과 남산자락의 전망이 얼마나 시원한가?
우리는 유난히도 남향(southern exposure)으로 거실과 방을 배치 하는데 집착해 왔다.
때문에 주택은 공간적으로 활력을 잃었고 그런 관계로 공간구성 및 생활 방식은
자연히 경직되게 되었다.
따라서, 평면을 완전히 바꾸고 새로운 개념의 Entry 文化를 접목 함으로써
새로운 집의 모습과 다양하고 흥미로운 공간 체험이 가능하도록 시도 하였다.
주택에 들어서면 처음 접하는 현관은 신발을 수납하기 위한 소극적인 공간이기 쉽상이다.
따라서 처음 집을 방문하는 이들을 위해 새롭게 준비한 것은
좁고 어두운 통로나 꽉 막힌 아트월이 아닌
확트인 - 더우기 외부로 향해 열려있는 연속된 공간
한강이나 도시의 야경을 그대로 받아들일 수 있도록 하였다.
내부이면서 외부이고 외부인 듯 하면서 내부인 것이다.
더우기 주택의 중심에 마당이 있는듯 거친돌과 자갈을 소재로
현대적 분위기의 정원을 두었다.
이곳을 중심으로 칸을 나누고 채나눔 (우리의 전통 집은 칸과 칸이 모여 채를 이루고
채와 마당이 어우러져 집을 이룸)을 하였으며 파생되는 공간으로 인해 은근하고 고급스런
갤러리풍의 entry hall이 탄생 되었다.
이곳에서 거실, 다이닝, 키친...등 생활 존과 침실 존이 연결되고 나누어 진다.
주택의 덩어리를 여러 개로 나누어서 배열하다 보면 채와 채 사이에
여러 형태의 사이 공간이 만들어 진다.
거실 한 켠에 한식 스타일의 확장된 거실공간을 새롭게 꾸며
한국식 다실을 색다르게 연출했다.
단(段)을 높여 우리의 툇마루를 연상케 하는 다실(茶室)은
고가구와 좌식형 테이블로 꾸며 우리에게 내재되어 있는 고유의 아름다움과
심미적 안정을 찾아주는 공간으로서 좌식형 휴식공간이다.
거실과 유기적으로 연결하여 사용할 수 있으며
폴딩 도어를 달아 독립적으로도 사용이 가능하다.
더우기 마당 곁에 있어 거실과 다실, 마당의 켜가 겹치면서
여러 방향의 다양한 풍경을 담을 수 있으며
관조성과 연속성....등 시각적인 풍요로움을 부여하고 있다.
표현은 최대한 절제하고 안정된 꾸밈을 추구한 인테리어 스타일은
여백의 미학을 최대한 살렸으며 특히, 마치 고 품격 호텔의 스위트 룸을 연상시키는
마스터 존은 톨(tall)수납과 미드웨이(mid-way)장을 설치한
워크인 클로젯(walk-in closet)시스템의
드레스 룸을 갖추었으며 주부의 전용공간인 파우더 룸은 사용빈도가 잦은 곳으로서
장식을 배제한 단순조망과 낮은 가구 디자인으로 기능과 더불어 사용이 편리하게 하였다.
부부침실 뒤에서 창살 느낌의 짙은 우드 프레임을 덧붙여
뒤에서 비추는 조명의 은은함으로 부부들을 편안한 잠자리로 이끈다.
한쪽에는 책상과 의자를 두어 서재로 활용할 수 있도록 하였는데,
한 공간에 두 가지 기능을 접목 시킨 것이다.
자연의 건강함을 실내로 끌어들이려는 노력인 것이다.
특히, 삶에 대한 자잘한 이야기를 나눌 부부만의 공간을
베란다에 두어 도시의 야경을 벗삼아 와인 한잔하며
하루의 피로를 씻을 수 있게 하였다.
실내 이미지가 생활양식을 어떻게 반영 하느냐에 따라
로맨틱한 분위기나 낭만적 분위기 등으로 다양하게
표출될 수 있음을 잘 나타내는 것이다.
Sk View (Bangbaedong) project had proceeded, as any other ordinary project, in such a way that it kept a nice view behind and placed the
iving room facing another residence complex and so on...
How great of the Han River and the end of Mt. Nam peeking through the window!
Until now, living room and bedroom arrangements have been stubbornly placed to have a southern exposure.
As a result, houses have been losing vitality. Therefore has created an awkward and stiff spatial composition and lifestyle.
Completely changing the floor plan and introducing a new 'entry culture' brought a new look to the house and allowed one to have
new exciting experiences in the house. Although the entry hall is the first place to go through as entering the house,
it can be a passive space just for putting shoes.
Instead of a narrow and dark corridor that leads to an art wall, a new design, a continuous space, completely open to the outside was designed.
A space that is able to accept the night scenery of the Han River as well as the city, just the way it is.
It represents inside and outside combined. Also, by putting a modern garden inside, using rough rocks and gravel give a feeling of traditional yard.
Spaces are divided into different chambers and Kyeus (Korean traditional houses were consisted of different sets of areas called Kyeu that created a chamber.
A house contains different chambers in addition to the main yard). Finally, from such spaces a soft, sophisticated gallery-like space entry hall with is created.
The living room, dinning room, and kitchen, etc are connected to and divided by the entry hall into private spaces.
There must be a number of spaces in between one chamber and the next, when designing the layout of a house with several masses.
An extraordinary Korean tea room took place in the newly extended living room. On raised platform that reminds one of the Twaitmaru from traditional homes,
the room is furnished with beautiful antique furniture and low tables. It is a relaxing sitting space where one discovers their inner beauty and
calmness through the esthetically. It can be used as continuously with the living room, or individually by using folding doors. Furthermore,
having the yard near by, layered with the Kyeu of the living room, and tearoom, allows a nice view of nature from many directions. Contemplation and continuity,
etc…give visual abundance. The limited expression and achievement of stability in decorative interiors maximized the beauty of emptiness.
Especially, a master zone that is reminiscent of an elegant hotel suite contains a walk-in closet that has tall and midway storage spaces.
The most frequently used room by housewives is the powder room. It avoids decoration yet focuses on practicality and simplicity of low furniture design.
The dark wooden frame behind the bed, used as a backdrop lit against the wall, in the master bedroom, puts the couple to sleep comfortably.
A desk and chair were placed on the other side of the room to be used as a library. This room is utilized as two different spaces.
An effort was made to bring in the liveliness of nature into the room.
In particular, the design allowed a space on the balcony for the couple. It is a space where they can talk about various stories of their life experiences,
while taking in the evening view with a glass of wine.
It is a good example of how the design of the interiors can be well portrayed as a romantic or fantasy like atmosphere applied according to one’s lifestyle.
