시그니쳐 쇼룸은 LG의 가전제품을 빌트인하여 최상의 효율적 공간을 완성하고, 실제 집처럼 다양한 라이프 scene으로 제안하는 국내최초 초 프리미엄 빌트인 가전 전시장이다. 건축물은 프릿츠커 수상자인 톰 메인(Thom Mayne)이 설계, 시공하였으며, B1은 키친관, 1-3F는 시그니처 브랜드 갤러리관, 4F는 쿠킹 스튜디오, 5F는 LG 하우시스 프리미엄관으로 이루어졌다. 우리는 5F 프리미엄관을 기획하였으며 Green 시그니쳐 라이프스타일을 부여주기로 했다. 자연을 소재로 한 바닥재, Fabric, Wallpaper, Sheets를 적재적소에 사용하며, LG 소비재의 우수성과 철학을 보여주려 했다. 예를 들면, 옥수수 소재로 만든 플로링재를 선택한 것 … 등이다. 무엇보다도 거실, 침실, 주방과 다이닝, 리빙의 공간 연결고리를 그린으로 하였으며 디자인의 중심이 되게 하였다. 자연친화적인 실내정원을 경험 할 수 있게 하여 비록 전시장이지만 들어서자마자 힐링되는 느낌을 주고 싶었다. LG 가전의 가장 상위권인 시그니처 냉장고, 공기청정기, 세탁기, TV등과 어울리는 라이프 스타일의 공간체험은 소비자들에게는 많은 상상과 꿈이 현실화 될 수 있지 않겠는가 싶다. “가전을 넘어 가전과 가구, 홈 인테리어, 라이프 스타일이 모두 하나의 예술이 되어 경이로운 토탈 공간 솔루션을 제공하며, 새로운 가전 라이프에 대한 예술적 영감을 선사하려고 마련한 것”이라 할 수 있겠다.






The Signature Showroom is Korea’s first premium exhibition space built to optimize spatial efficiency and recreate various ‘life scenes’ of a real home to display LG’s new high-end build-in home appliances. The building design and construction was spearheaded by Pritzker prize winner, Thom Mayne. The structure is composed of a kitchen showroom on B1, signature brand gallery on 1~3F, Cooking Studio on 4F, and the LG Hausys Premium showroom on 5F. We designed the Premium showroom on the 5th floor. Deciding to showcase the green signature lifestyle, flooring, fabric, wallpaper, and sheets made of natural materials were chosen to demonstrate the supreme quality and philosophy of LG consumer goods. For example, the flooring we decided to use was made of corn-based materials, etc. The living room, bedroom, kitchen, and living spaces were all connected and in harmony with ‘Green’ at the center of our overall design. Despite it being a showroom, I wanted to create an eco-friendly indoor garden so that visitors could experience a sense of healing as they walked inside. I believe spatial experiences of a lifestyle suitable for LG’s most-expensive, luxury home electronics like the signature refrigerator, air purifier, washer, and television, will help turn the imaginations of many consumers into reality.  It has been said, “Beyond being simply home appliances, the combination of home appliances, furniture, home interior, and lifestyle can together create an art form that offers an outstanding total spatial solution and provides artistic inspiration on new lifestyles with these home appliances.”
