이곳을 처음 방문했을 때의 느낌은 강으로 둘러싸인 고즈넉한 섬 같았으며 마음을 나누어도 될 듯한 왕 벚꽃나무가 정렬을 이루며 기다렸다는 듯.. 우리를 맞이하고 있었다. 이렇게 나무들과 소통하며 우리의 계획은 시작되었다. 왕 벚꽃나무를 축으로 글라스하우스를 서로 마주보며 배치하였다. 이곳은 밖으로 향한 오픈형 구조이며 벽돌로 바닥 마감하였다. Glass House 옆으로는 비닐온실 3동(棟)과, 채소를 키울 수 있는 밭이 있으며 글라스하우스 카페에 당근케익의 당근..등 식자재를 제공해준다. 당근케익이 이곳의 시그니쳐가 되어 큰 인기를 끌 경우 주변농가에 당근을 위탁재배를 하여 농가의 수익을 돕는 원대한 꿈을 꾸기도 하였다. 그야말로 farm to table인 것이다. 또한, Green Market이 있어 꽃과 화분을 구입 할 수 있게 하였다. 무엇보다도 도로에서 이곳까지의 길은 마을길이며 멀리 초원이 보이는 숲길이다. 해서, 차는 주차장에 멀찍이 두고 게이트까지 좀 더 걸어오거나 자전거를 타고 들어왔으면 했다. 그런 다음 왕 벚꽃나무 사이에서 함께 걷는 길로 마무리 하고 싶었다. 처음 이곳으로 향하다 보면 세동(棟)으로 나누어진 Gallery를 마주하게 된다. 부담스럽지 않은 건축물이기를 바랬기에 단층 구조물 3채로 나누었으며 지하를 통해 서로의 공간으로 연결되어 진다. 그 중 한 채는 수변공간으로 둘러싸여 있는 색다른 Gallery로 구성되어 있다. 전시실은 모두 6개로 이루어져 있으며 세미나실로도 사용이 가능하다. 건물 안쪽으로는 계단식 관람장이 있어 다양한 공연이 가능하다. 도심 생활에서의 스트레스를 뒤로하고 밤벌농장에 오면 식물과 들판의 꽃들 그리고 크고 작은 꽃나무들과 Gallery. 또한, 다양한 산책길에서 길고 깊은 쉼을 쉴 수 있다. 역시, 자연은 놀라울 정도로 많은 것을 베풀어준다.

그래서 우리의 선택은 항상 그린인 것이다.

When visiting the location for the first time, the site resembled a quiet peaceful island surrounded by a river. Friendly King Cherry trees were standing in a line as if they were waiting to greet us. Like so, our planning process began by making connections with trees at Bam-Bul. Setting aligned King cherry trees as an axis, a glass house was placed in a way that the two are facing each other. This place is an open-structure facing the outside environment where the floor is finished with bricks. Next to the King Cherry trees, there are 3 vinyl greenhouses where vegetables can be grown. They supply ingredients, such as carrots for carrot cakes served at the glasshouse café. When carrot cakes become a popular signature dish at Bam-Bul, I had a dream of making consignment farming agreements with farmers to help out local farmhouses. It is a true farmto- table experience. Also, We placed a Green Market, allowing people to purchase flowers and plant pots. Mainly, the village road that connects Bam-Bul to the main street is also a forest road with a view of the grasslands at a distance. Thus, I wanted people to either walk or bicycle their way to the entrance gate after leaving their vehicles behind at the parking lot. After that, I wanted to finish off the road by making a path where people can walk among the King Cherry trees together. When approaching the site, people will first witness a Gallery divided into three sections. Because I did not want the gallery to be overwhelming, I divided it into three single-floor-structures, and connected all three spaces underground. One of these structures is surrounded by a body of water creating a unique gallery space. The gallery is comprised of total 6 exhibition spaces which can be also used as seminar rooms. Behind the buildings, there is a sloped outdoor theater where various performances can take place. Leaving the stressed out urban life behind, one can visit Bam-Bul Farmer’s Garden, a place filled with plants, flowers from the field, various sized flowering trees, and a gallery. Also, one can take long deep breaths at different types of promenades. As so, nature provides so many things in life.

This is why our choice was always green.
